Synopsis
Long I watched the horse of legend, EL FAROUK, protector of Timbuktu, and her White Knight, nocturnal and solitary watchman walking the city... With those words Tewfik Fares introduces us to an extraordinary journey to the legendary Holy City in the North of Mali on the traces of the famous arabic traveller Ibn Battuta a TIN BUCTU. This mythical city that owes its past glory to the meeting of many Cultures, meetings which gave rise to the cultural capital of the SONRAI Empire that attracted the greatest scholars and shone on the world for more than 3 centuries.

Tewfik Fares, is a poet, journalist, screenwriter, director and producer. Among the Scenarios he wrote, the most famous are those directed by Mohammed Lakhdar-Hamina :Vent des Aurès , prix de la première œuvre, Cannes 1967 and best screenplay at the festival of Moscow the same year and Chroniques des années de braise, Palme d’Or’ Cannes 1975. He himself directed several movies and documentaries naemly Les Hors la Loi, Génération de la Guerre, Les Lumiéres de la zone, Huraga…
