JCC in the university campus of Manouba

A first in the history of the Carthage Film Festival, the Faculty of Letters, Arts and Humanities of Manouba (Flahm) will hold throughout the week of the 26th edition of this festival (23-27 November 2015), film screenings, debates , meetings with directors, a critic workshop, symposium day "The icon and the letter, Literature and Cinema" dedicated to the memory of Abdelwahab Meddeb.

Students from the Faculty and all the Manouba university campus, teachers, administratives, employees, workers, cinephiles of the city of Manouba, in a word, cinema lovers are invited within the Faculty to live and enrich these days in this space dedicated to youth. With two screenings a day, one at 1PM (films in competition), the other at 2PM (films out of competition), the large amphitheater named after the famous Tunisian scholar Ibn Khaldun, spaces and rooms of the Faculty will be inhabited, crossed by movies, images from around the world, meetings, debates and voices to share all those movie moments that are also moments of get together, of exchange and citizenship.

The films will be screened with directors who will come to meet students and all moviegoers and continue the debate the following days of screenings in the Salle Polyvalente of the faculty. Wednesday, November 25, the day the closing of the conference "The icon and the letter, Literature and Cinema" will be held at the Faculty (Salles des soutenances, Abdelwahab Hassan Husni)

Following the Monday and Tuesday sessions that will be held in downtown Tunis, the conference organized in partnership in the Festival and (Flahm) and initiated by Professor. Abdelkarim Gabous, will move to its closing day (Wednesday, November 25 ) at the Faculty. This day will experience unprecedented participation of students who present their communications with other film professionals and critics. A critical writing workshop offers the opportunity for students to write about the films screened: articles, movie reviews, minutes of discussions and meetings with directors to share their experiences and reflections together on movies and films and about the different possibilities of writing with and around the cinema. During this critical workshop, they will be accompanied by teachers of the faculty, Ahmed Guesmi and Sihem Sidaoui and animators, film critics, invited by the Faculty of Manouba for the occasion: Saad Chakali, Alexia Roux, Nadia Meflah.

Cinema invites himself among students for more sharing, for more communication, debate, for a vivid cinema with everything that can embody an openness to the world, to the other, so that cinema may live closer to our youth, our future ....
