SYNOPSIS

In a conflict-ridden village, a grieving father and mother live in an abandoned morgue

after losing their transgender daughter. Driven to assert his masculinity, the father,

with a washer’s help, attempts to cleanse her body, while the mother dreads the

looming scandal. How far will he go against the community’s rejection?

Jordanian director Ahmad Al-Yasir’s short film Our Males and Females has won

124 awards in 47 countries and is shortlisted for the 2024 Oscars. With nine

years in TV production, he’s also directed a children’s program and is developing

his debut feature film.
