In El Kef of the 2020s, in northern Tunisia, Bacteria, Boti, Aymen and the others live a disadvantaged life filled with schemes, humor, both small and big dreams. They grow up near the Cirta, a building that closed thirty years ago but was once the only cinema in the town. A filmmaker invites them to reenact the time when the theater offered a window to the world, taking on the role of young viewers from the past. Little by little, reality catches up with their childhood dreams—and with those of the filmmaker

Director  : SAIF CHIDA

Saïf Chida is a Tunisian director. Self-taught, he directed his first short film, Macchabé, in 2015, which won the Jury Prize at the Carthage Film Festival. The following year, he directed Nagra, a fiction short film selected at the Carthage Film Festival and at several international festivals.He is currently developing Cirta, his first hybrid feature film set in Kef.

Founded in 2022, Muja Films is anchored in Marseille and Tunis. From one coast of the Mediterranean to the other, it aims to chart a channel between the continents of its two founders, Manon Lavaud and Dhia Jerbi.Since its foundation, Muja Films has been hosted at IDFAcademy 2023, EURODOC Med 2023 and Creative Producers Indaba 2024.
