Sara, a solitary little girl, grows up in Cairo with her Ethiopian nanny, Woody, and her workaholic mother. Twenty years later, Sara confronts her own mother and what it could mean to become a mother herself.

INTENTION NOTE : This film is a personal quest mixing archive, fiction, and documentary. Through delicate editing of these elements, my intention is Your daughter to emerge as a powerful film, dealing with important themes such as childhood trauma, motherhood, and the price of emancipation.

Director : SARA SHAZLI 

Sara Shazli graduated from the American University of Paris in Film Studies and from The International Film and TV School (EICTV) in Cuba, specializing in directing fiction. Her short film “Isabel” received the best short film award in Cairo in 2020.
