AFEF BEN MAHMOUD
Afef Ben Mahmoud holds a diploma in scriptwriting and direction, along with a Master of Research in Image Design. Embracing an artistic journey since youth as a dancer and actress, earning several awards for her performances at various festivals, she produced and starred in Nouri Bouzid’s “The Scarecrows”, and co-directed “Backstage” with Khalil Benkirane which premiered in competition in Giornate degli Autori in Venice 2023, winner of the Cinema & Arts Award.
ALEX MOUSSA SWADOGO
Alex Moussa Sawadogo has been working to promote African cinema for over 15 years. In 2007, he launched the first edition of the Afrikamera Festival in Berlin. In 2016, he set up the Ouaga Film Lab, a film development and co-production laboratory in Burkina Faso. He was the co-initiator and manager of the Fonds Jeune Création Francophone from its creation in 2017 to 2023. A curator and member of several film commissions and festival juries, he is also the artistic director of the Lausanne African Film Festival and is currently the general delegate of FESPACO
HEBA OTHMAN
Heba Othman is an Egyptian editor, graduated from the Higher Institute of Cinema in Cairo. She has collaborated on award-winning films and documentaries showcased at international festivals such as Cannes and Berlinale. Known for her sense of narrative rhythm and emotional subtlety, she champions bold and unique stories, contributing to the enrichment of contemporary Arab and African cinemas.
DEEMA AZAR
Deema Azar is a Jordanian film producer and script consultant. She is also co-founder and managing partner at the Amman-based production company TaleBox. Azar has produced the first award winning feature film of Darin J. Sallam FARHA (2021) and the short film THE PARROT (2016). Azar also works as a script consultant, conducting script development labs and advising for film entities regionally and internationally in addition to privately consulting on film projects
MADELINE ROBERT
Madeline Robert has been working for VISIONS DU RÉEL, International Film Festival Nyon (CH) since 2014, on both the Programming and Industry sides. She has been appointed head of the Swiss fund dedicated to cinema from countries with a low production capacity: VISIONS SUD EST in 2023. Madeline is also producer (within her France based company, LES FILMS DE LA CARAVANE) and a regular tutor, member of funding committees or juror, with particular expertise in documentary films.
