When her father, who works in Kuwait, doesn’t return home for the summer holidays in Egypt, Maha an 11-year-old, embarks on a journey to uncover the mystery behind his absence as she believes it’s all part of a surprise he prepared for her upcoming birthday

Randa Ali is a filmmaker and producer working in Egypt and the US. In 2024, her short film Mango, an exploration of loss and grief through a daughter-father relationship, was in the official competitions of the Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival.
