Synopsis
Manu is a 15-year-old boy who loves percussion. One day while visiting the native village, Manu meets a young boy of his age, Apéli, who perfectly masters the art of percussion. However, his passion is hampered by his mother’s rigor. The father does his best to make Manu grow in an artistic environment, but without telling the mother.
Marcelin BOSSOU: DIRECTOR
Marcelin BOSSOU studied cinematography at the Higher School of Visual Arts in Marrakech. He made several short films including “NUIT DE NOCES” which was screened in several festivals. He also won many awards including the René Monory Special Award at FESPACO 2013.

Synopsis
VENERANDA, a therapist survivor of the genocide of Tutsi, seems leading a peaceful reserved life. She sees her life upset when she learns that her daughter is pregnant from a Hutu boy, the ethnic group responsible for the genocide. Either she has to leave her own people rest in peace and to move forward with the living ones or try to build a bridge between these two worlds.
Marie-Clémentine DUSABEJAMBO: DIRECTOR
Marie-Clémentine Dusabejambo is a self-made director from Rwanda. She directed 3 short films which are: “Lyiza” awarded with the Bronze Tanit at Carthage Film Festival 2012, “Behind the word”, which had the Jury Award within CineSud Festival in 2014 as well as “A place for myself” awarded along with the Bronze Tanit in Carthage 2016 and Ousmane Sembene award the same year.
Faissol GNONLONFIN : PRODUCER
Established in 2011 in Benin, the company “Merveilles Production” produces documentaries and feature films. Synopsis

Aïssa DJOUAMAA: DIRECTOR
Aïssa DJOUAMAA is a young Algerian director. In 2010, he graduated from the School of Arts and Cinema in Tunisia, then started teaching audio-visual techniques. He directed a series of documentaries and short films. He created his own cinema company “Nouvelle Vague Algérienne” in 2016.

Synopsis
In the biggest steel factory of Tunisia, we follow the fate of four workers who suffer from physiological and physical disorders in their struggle for survival during a strike. Following the explosion of an oven that caused the death of their colleague. Four men with four different and moving stories in which we discover a strange world that has been revoked by people of different age groups.

Synopsis
A ruthless sniper on Haifa Street in Baghdad kills a man walking in the neighbourhood. With gunfire threat, he prevents anyone from retrieving the corpse causing a chain of events that will reveal the tragic truth about the main character's relationship with the victim.
Mohanad HAYAL: DIRECTOR/CO-WRITER
Mohannad is an Iraqi filmmaker and co-founder of the Iraqi Independent Film Center in Baghdad. As a key figure in the resurgence of cinema in Iraq, he has worked on features like “SON OF BABYLON” and “QARANTINA”. Mohanad’s short film “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” premiered at the 2013 Berlin International Film Festival.
Hala ALSALMAN: PRODUCER/CO-WRITER
Hala is an Iraqi-Canadian filmmaker and producer based in Los Angeles. Her fiction film BÊTES HUMAINES, a multi-genre short film set in Montreal’s subway system was nominated for the prestigious Canadian Gemini Award and premiered at the Newport Beach International Film Festival in 2012.
Ali RAHEEM: PRODUCER
Ali is a documentary filmmaker and one of the founders of the Baghdad-based production company Dream Group. He has been involved in the production of many films since the US Occupation of Iraq. His latest long documentary BALANJA premiered at the 2016 Oran Film Festival.

Synopsis
"The Comedy" is far from being as its name suggests. It is rather a tragedy about the separate lives of two people whom nothing binds except a chance encounter in a cabaret called "Comedy." A place of sociability and individual freedom. "The Comedy" deals with the right to live but questions the right to die. Will they yield to temptation? Will they help their beloved to free themselves from the ordeal they live in? In "The Comedy", the last is the one who suffers the most.

Saïd completed his studies at a film school in Vanvouver, Canada. Between 2006 and 2013, Saïd made several short films. He pursued an academic training and continued his career as a theater actor. He wrote and directed a feature film in2014 '' A Mile in My Shoes '' which won 22 awards and 6 nominations.

Synopsis

Amr Abdelhadi is a Jordanian director and scriptwriter. Since 2006 he won 5 gold and 6 silver PromaxBDA Arabia Awards. He wrote and directed “Familial Fever” selected in the International Competition at Locarno Film Festival 2012 and won the FIPRESCI Critics Prize at Dubai Film Festival in the same year. Synopsis
Massata Cissé, the only woman carrying a heavy-duty truck in Burkina Faso, criss-crosses the ports and markets of several West African cities for 24 years. She is 56 years old and does not expect to abandon her passion and her husband. Her ultimate project is to have her own truck and pass her hand to her grandson Akim whom she is initiating. The latter will be able to take care of her when the weight of the age will oblige her to abandon the driving.

Synopsis
Dan une station service réservée aux femmes dans des pays déchirés par la guerre qui est le Yémen, Layal, jeune fille de 15 ans, s’est donné la tâche d’acheter la liberté de son petit frère. Sa monnaie d’échange est un précieux baril d’essence qui ne lui appartient pas et qui lui permettra d’extraire son cadet des mains d’une milice de recrutement. Elle s'oppose aux femmes de la station et aux tribus locales qui revendiquent le réservoir comme le leur. Layal doit alors faire un choix : perdre de son frère ou tout perdre !

Synopsis
Beirut 2017: The civil war is over but other wars more underlying are still there. They are emerging on the mutilated bodies of men, on the buildings in destruction and reconstruction, on the faces of women redone. It is through the story of a couple who tries to put an end to a unwanted pregnancy in a country where the act prohibits abortion, that describe the contradictory landscape Lebanese.
