Thinking about cinema and interacting
with those who think and make
it have always been at the heart of the
CFF fundamentals that our friend,
Nejib Ayed, has never ceased to defend.
As an Intellectual and cinema duff, he
wanted to multiply these centers of thoughts in order
to maintain the primary vocation of this festival.
The Master classes of this session will welcome
Jean-Michel Frodon , a critic, historian and university
lecturer.
The meeting with Jean-Michel Frodon will focus on
themes that concern the author of Horizon cinema. It
will be a matter of redefining the new challenges that
are emerging around the seventh art, its place and
functions in present times that are marked by two
fundamental aspects: globalization and digitization.
Two interdependent processes that disrupt the original
structure and status of cinema tend to «unify the
imaginaries».
Are we facing a new crisis of the seventh art?
How and where does cinema resist this double movement?
What is the role of criticism?
