Synopsis

Lebanon, summer 1958. Three sisters of good Christian society are on holiday in the Lebanese mountains. The quiet life of the village is jostled by the echoes of a rumbling revolution in Beirut and the arrival of two French vacationers. But it is from within the family that the upheaval will come. The eldest sister, Layla, mother and perfect wife, will open her eyes to the patriarchal society that keeps them under control. In the young Lebanon that dreams of a golden age, can a woman have another destiny than that traced by men?--------------------
