Synopsis
During the first euphoric years following the Independence of Algeria, two friends, Djaffar and Hamid, face a bright and promising future. Over the decades, secrets and betrayals drive them apart.
Director's biography
Trained as an actor, Lyes Salem directed his first short film, Jean- Farès, in 2001. He then won a number of international awards and the César for Best Short Film in 2005 with Cousines. In 2008, he directed Masquerades, which was chosen to represent Algeria in the Oscars for the Best Foreign Movie.
