The revolution won’t be televised ( SENEGAL - Documentary )
Synopsis
Thiat and Kilifeu, Senegalese activists and underground hip-hop singers, lead this one-year revolution against President Wade, until his fall in 2012. But what is beyond a revolution? Will the two friends succeed in their 17 year long quest for recognition as musicians ? By highlighting an emerging African urban youth movement, the revolution won’t be televised, but it will be documented.
Statement of intent
Far from the image they have in the media, I chose to film Thiat and Kilifeu as they are : romantic human beings ; in their «Action» when they are militants in the service of the people, and in their «Dream» when they go back to being poetmusicians on stage. The revolution will not be televised but it will be documented.
