She trained in Cinema at the Dakar Media Centre, then in France at Femis and then in Germany at the Filmakademie. In 2005 she directed Mon Beau Sourire, a documentary on how Senegalese women accept pain to fit the canons of beauty. She directs the Karoninka production company, with a dozen films to its credit in 2014.
