After 15 years in jail, Ziad struggles to adjust to modern Palestinian life as the hero that everyone believes him to be. Unable to distinguish reality from hallucination, he falls apart and hitches a lift back to where it all began.

A Palestinian director, writer and producer, he worked as a photographer during the second Palestinian Intifada. He studied Communication and Political Science and took an MA in Screenwriting and Directing. His short film Roos Djaj (2009) premiered at the NY Film Festival, screened at the Sundance Film Festival and won several awards. Mafak (Screwdriver) (2018) is his first feature film.
