The 36th Carthage Film Festival offers the public a special program of films that have left their mark and established themselves as major works in the history of Arab cinema.

These films represented a qualitative leap, both in terms of content and form, breaking free from certain restrictions and accepted conventions, forging a new path for themselves and their creators—a path followed by their successors.

During the first quarter of the 21st century, these films, among other Arab cinematic experiments, shaped the contours of a new Arab cinema and a new generation of filmmakers eager to create a cinema that challenges stereotypes and offers a fresh perspective on subjects rooted in reality, reflecting the evolution of societies and their socio-political and economic transformations.
