Synopsis
In 2000 over a period of one year, a special
unit created to fight organized crime in the
Douala region in western Cameroon was responsible
for the disappearance of some 1,000
people. “They say that Africans aren’t ready
for democracy, but I ask myself, have they ever
been ready for dictatorship?” (Wole Soyinka).
Osvalde Lewat has made that question her
own; concerned by this tragedy and the distress
of the families who are fighting to find out what
happened to their loved ones. Their lawyer deplores:
“As long as it’s black business, Negro
business, no one cares.” This film strives to
make it a men and women’s concern.
