Palestine(s), art, history and memory
Sixty years have passed since Palestine was despoiled. It still stands in spite of everything. Cinema has been and will
continue to be the witness of the will to survive that irrigates the heart of a nation beyond the trials and tribulations
of History.
Putting forth the idea that cinematographic art can multiply Palestine, through the multiplication of views
immortalizing its past, taking over its present, anticipating its future, paying tribute to the men and women filmmakers
who chose to resist, armed with their cameras, reminding us of the irrefutable character of the rightfulness of this cause
by going back to the source of injustice, was born this retrospective. Art, history and memory are the many prisms
through which Palestine can be captured. They are the structure of a section dedicated to documentary and axed on
films that have managed to combine art and the act of resistance.
