Synopsis
At 450 km south-west of Tunis, perched in the hills, the village of Toujane is located. Where for centuries, indigenous peoples have conducted a rudimentary existence on the fringes of modern society. Today a woman, a mother of seven children lives in that village: Ghnia, guardian of the temple of the family from sunrise to sunset, struggles daily for the survival of her family.
Réalisateur
Helmi Dridi, actor and director born in 1980 in Tunis, is a graduate of ISAD. He plays in many plays including Guernica of Hassan Mouadhen and Hostages by Ezzedine Gannoun.
He made his film debut with Nouri Bouzid (Clay Dolls, Making Off). His meeting with French director Jacques Malaterre in 2006 is crucial. The director gave him four leading roles in "The Rite of Man", a film, after which the player will be permanently located in France, and extend his collaboration with Ao and Carmen.
