Synopsis

After the Battle of Kfar Chouba in Lebanon (January 1975), Larbi Nasri, a young Algerian journalist, is caught up in the events preceding the Civil War. Linked to Maha, Hind, Raouf and Michel around Nahla, he assists in the construction of the myth of Nahla, a singer adored by the Arab population. Nahla one day loses her voice on stage. The atmosphere of a crisis that surrounds her, becomes like an infection. L arbi, fascinated, loses his footing and gets stuck.



Réalisateur


Born in 1947 in Algeria, Farouk Beloufa graduated from IDHEC, Paris. He also followed courses at the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes in Paris, under the direction of Roland Barthes, and presented a thesis on film theory. Upon his return to Algeria, his first major production, Insurgent (1973), is censored. Nahla (1979), is his unique feature movie.
