Vincenzo Bugno was born in Venice, where he graduated in Literature, History of Arts
and Cinema. He lives in Berlin. As a journalist and film critic, he has contributed to many
Italian newspapers and magazines. He worked as a journalist, author and director for TVchannels
such as Arte, ZDF... He was also an advisor and curator for many international
film festivals and is one of the initiators of the Berlinale / World Cinema Fund, which has
been created in 2004 to support film production in developing countries and regions with
lack a constructive film industry. He is also the Berlinale Festival Delegate for Italy and
for the Maghreb/ Mashrek regions and a Member of the Berlinale Competition Selection
Committee.
Nadia Ben Rachid is a Franco-Tunisian film editor. She has spent two decades working
with Abderrahmane Sissako. She won the Best Editing award at the 2015 Cesar for
≪Timbuktu≫.
She was invited to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 2015. She
describes the process of editing as shaping a director's idea into a ≪harmonious, fluid
idea≫. Her film editing has been called ≪subtle≫ by the New Statesman.
Monica Hemming–Rorvik was the Durban International Film Festival (DIFF) assistant
manager where, for ten years, she curated documentary and short films and headed the
industry and documentary program at the DIFF. She promotes the exceptional locations,
services and studios of the City of Cape Town and the Western Cape region to the world
on behalf of Wesgro, which is the region's Tourism Trade and Investment Promotion
Agency. She manages the film division, assisting companies looking to produce.
Hala Khalil is a director and scriptwriter. Her award winning short film ≪The Kite≫ (1997)
was selected in many festivals, winning international acclaim. ≪Best Times≫ (2004) is her
first feature film. In 2006, she wrote and directed her second film ≪Cut and paste≫. Both
these films were critically acclaimed, selected in numerous international film festivals
and won several awards. She is working now on her third film, ≪Nawara≫.
Hedi Zardi started his career in international promotion at Unifrance and worked at the
Cesar Academy for five years, before joining the acquisitions branch of international
sales company Fortissimo Films. In 2010, he worked in the organization, the promotion
and the programming of five festivals in the Public Systeme Cinema and started the
coproduction of films awarded at international festivals. He launched his international
sales company Luxbox in September 2015.
