"New Territories" is a parallel section of the Carthage Film Festival performed by an independent external programmer of the team festival. For the first time, the festival provides a "white screen" to a personality of the cinema world allowing him to propose movies.
A window on the recent most innovative and subversive film proposals, the most radical and marginal, this section gives us to see new aesthetic and political experiences far from any commercial format, media or festival.
"New Territories" will attempt to account the constant ability of cinema to house all at once issues of its time, questions of those who do it and their contemporaries as well as the shifting artistic expressions , formal and technological.
Composed of several films from four continents that last between 3 minutes to more than six hours, it reflects the diversity of cinema, the ways of doing and the existing views it expresses.
Super 8 film to digital media through new media and smartphones, from fiction to documentary through experimental and hybrid forms, "New Territories" brews a wide range of new and innovative cinematographic proposals.
