Kais al-Zubaidi
Kais al-Zubaidi is an Iraqi director and film researcher. His films on the rise of the Palestinian liberation struggle from the late 1960s evince remarkable stylistic diversity. Distinguished by a constant search for new modes of popular representation and by the director’s technical virtuosity, the two shorts shown here chart al-Zubaidi’s early experiments with expressionist, humanist, and avant-garde cinema forms.
