Rashid Masharawi
Rashid Mashawari was born in 1962 in the Shati refugee camp in the Gaza Strip. He started in cinema at the age of 18. Since then, he has made many documentary and fiction films, dealing with themes related to the Palestinian question. He was the only filmmaker to work in Palestine in the 80s and 90s and to describe life in the camps. Despite the situation, he is still living in Ramallah to document life under the Israeli occupation
