César F. Ardavín

Margarita Alexandre (León,1923 - Madrid, 2015) was an actress, director and film producer, who developed her career in Spain and in revolutionary Cuba. She was the first woman to direct films under Franco's dictatorship. Together with the film critic Rafael Torrecilla - her sentimental and professional partner until his death - she founded the production company Nervión Films. They co-directed and produced Cristo (1953), La ciudad perdida (1954), and La Gata (1955), the first Spanish film shot in Cinemascope with entirely Spanish capitals.
